Universidad de Valencia Selects Elluminate Live!^® for Online Tutorials, Blended Classes

Founded in 1499, the University of Valencia is one of the largest, oldest, and most varied of the Spanish universities. Today, over 45,500 students are taught by more than 3,000 professors on 3 campuses. According to Psychology Department Director Maria Dolores Sancerni and Paz Villar, a technician for the Information and Communication Technology program, the university selected Elluminate Live! for a pilot project that included online tutorial sessions, classes with small groups of 15-20, and blended online/onsite classes.

In fact, Maria Dolores and Paz conducted a survey, asking teachers and students who participated in the pilot project to rate Elluminate Live! based on usability, technical aspects, pedagogical needs, and compatibility.

In addition, both teachers and students rated the level of utility of a variety of Elluminate Live! features. Note that teachers felt hand raising, application sharing, and file transfer were the most useful features, while students ranked chat, recording, and file transfer as the most useful.
